  1. FW 190A BOMBER INTERCEPTION TRAINING
  2.  
  3. The Focke-Wulf 190A's standard armament
  4. consisted of two machine guns and two
  5. 20-mm cannons.  For the purpose of
  6. intercepting Allied bomber formations,
  7. additional cannons, usually 30-mm, were
  8. added to provide devastating firepower. 
  9. Some FW 190s were equipped with heavy
  10. armor around the cowling of the engine
  11. and also around the cockpit.  This added 
  12. protection for both the airplane and
  13. its occupant enabled Luftwaffe pilots
  14. to close to point blank range when
  15. firing, and occasionally to even ram
  16. into B-17s hoping to disable the
  17. lumbering giants.

  19.                     YOUR MISSION
  20.  
  21. You and your wingman are to take off
  22. from La Havre airfield to intercept a 
  23. formation of B-17s before they bomb the 
  24. V1 Missile Site at Pays de Caux.  Use 
  25. your FW's rockets to hit the bombers 
  26. from a distance, then attack them 
  27. head-on with machine guns and cannons.  
  28. Two P-51Ds are escorting the bombers.

  30. Your FW 190A is armed with rockets and a 
  31. 30-mm MK 103 cannon pod.
